VidTrans 2019 Tutorial

"SMPTE ST 2110 – Serving Up the Details, with a Side Order of SDP"

Download course description (73k, pdf)

Description: SMPTE ST 2110 is rapidly becoming the dominant technology for intra-studio IP media networking. With a number of parts published since late 2017, and new parts forthcoming in 2019, this complex standard covers a wide range of signal formats and applications that can be hard to master even for experienced practitioners.

This course will focus on placing all of this growing standards family into context, with a focus on the key elements of the standards that are essential for system operation and interoperability. Special attention will be given to traffic shaping requirements and to Session Description Protocol (SDP), which are both required technologies that can be particularly difficult to put into practice. New additions to the ST 2110 family, including compressed video and multi-link transport will also be previewed.

Time: February 25, 3:00-5:00 pm PST at the Marina del Rey Marriott in the Catalina Room on the Lower Level. Light refreshments will be provided.

Tutorial Rate: $225
